Castle Museum

The “Stadtmuseum”, the museum of the City of Wels, is located in the Castle of Wels.

Wels Castle is an important and lively cultural center and museum complex. During the warm summer months, the Castle´s inner courtyard serves as atmospheric backdrop to a variety of folkloric events and concerts. The Castle houses important collections of local and agricultural history, as well as the Austrian Cakes´ Museum and the Museum of Expellees and was reopened after a major revamp.
Apart from the interesting collections, the Castle provides year-round special exhibitions and interpretative programs with hands-on experiences for visitors.
What´s more, the Castle can be rented for special occasions and celebrations, such as birthday parties.
